Dubai has officially been announced as the cleanest city in the world for the third year in a row. According to the Global Power City Index (GPCI) issued by Japan’s Mori Memorial Foundation.
The Global Power City Index assesses major cities around the world according to their charisma, or their comprehensive power to attract people, capital, and enterprises from around the world. The ranking is measured on fix functions:
These categories are divided into 70 indicators to asses the overall power and attractiveness of city. Factors considered are the city's population, GDP and the number of international visitors each year.
The rankings are evaluated each year and useful for cities looking to improve competitiveness and attract more talent and investment opportunities.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai shared and announced this on Tiwtter. “Dubai is the safest city in the world, the cleanest in the world, and the most beautiful. “God willing, let us keep it safe, stable and prosperous”. He also added: “Cleanliness is civilisation. Cleanliness is culture. Cleanliness is part of faith.”
For the third year in a row, Dubai has been decalred as the cleanest city in the world, as well as, the safest city in the world to walk home at night and solo female travelers, and the most popular destination in the world in 2022.
